una mirada desde las ciencias ante el cambio climático
across government and non-government entities and initiatives,
and the community of healthcare practitioners. Participants also
recommended working with local governments in El Paso and
Ciudad Juárez to foster a unified response to heat health risks.
Ongoing Work
Since the July 2016 workshop, the work groups have added
members and have continued meeting on a regular basis.. Two
work groups (Communication and Engagement, and Capacity
Building and Training) have combined their efforts into one group,
focused on outreach to the public. In autumn 2016, the project
steering committee added a work group on urban infrastructure,
in order to reduce the urban heat island and impacts of extreme
heat. Figure 6 displays the work groups and their connections
with each other, and with the community.
